A Message from James

Greetings members of the Western Section, I'm closing in on one month as WSVP and finding lots and lots of challenges in this hi paying job (smile). I try to remember that to build a bigger and stronger Western Section, cooperation and shared sacrifice is required by those of us that have this vision.

I am pleased with the positive response of energetic members accepting committee chair positions and other important leadership areas. I have attempted to involve all areas within the Western Section in the decision making process. All section club locations, Sacramento, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area, LABU, San Diego, Phoenix, and Las Vegas are represented in some way in the administrative operation of the Western Section.

The first tournament of 2012 in the Western Section is being hosted by Aztec DBC February 17-20, in San Diego. Let each club in our section support Aztec's Grade A weekend. Let us also encourage each independent club to sponsor Grade A/B weekends in 2012 that the section members will support. Bigger and stronger requires cooperation and sacrifice. We should look at LABU as an example of the direction each club may want to steer their progress. Remember by showing support we will receive support.

Website Facelift

The website has a new look for 2012. The changes will not end here. More enhancements are coming; we'll point them out as they occur. The page is divided into a head section, three columns sections and a footer section

Head Section

The head section contains photos of our officers and our logo.

Left Column Section

The left column contains a table of content for all things related to clubs and the section..

Center Column Section

The center section contains main articles. The first article is our feature articles and will change frequently with your help. We encourage articles and comments from our readers. When sending anything to the webmaster created your document in your favorite Microsoft application and send that format.

Right Column Section

The right column contains links to the latest ABA news, bridge training videos, bridge hands, and other miscellaneous fun stuff.

Footer Section

And then, there is me. Hope you enjoy the new look.
